About the Role
Om Carehome is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Worker to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality care and support to individuals in their homes, ensuring their well-being, comfort, and safety. As a Senior Care Worker, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of care workers, coordinating care plans, and liaising with families and healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible service for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide personal care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Support clients with mobility, medication administration, and daily living activities.
• Assist with meal preparation, household tasks, and companionship to promote well-being.
• Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to clients' needs.
• Supervise and mentor junior care workers, ensuring they adhere to best practices.
• Monitor and report any changes in clients’ health and well-being to healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate records of care provided and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Work closely with families to provide reassurance and updates on care plans.
• Uphold the highest standards of dignity, respect, and professionalism in all interactions.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar care role, with supervisory or leadership responsibilities preferred.
Experience in working with elderly individuals or those requiring personal care and support.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
Good organizational and time management skills.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
Other Requirements:
A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one before employment).
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings.
A full UK driving license is desirable but not essential.
